Conversion Formulas

Three formulas cover every oven conversion you'll need:

°C = (°F − 32) × 5/9
°F = °C × 9/5 + 32
K = °C + 273.15

350°F → (350 − 32) × 5/9 = 176.7°C, rounded to 180°C on every European oven dial. Going the other way, 200°C → 200 × 9/5 + 32 =392°F, dialed in as 400°F. Gas marks step roughly 14°C per mark, with Gas 4 ≈ 180°C ≈ 350°F as the anchor.

Gas mark applies to UK gas ovens. Convection (fan) ovens typically run 20°C / 36°F cooler — reduce the setting and check early.

How to Use This Converter (3 Steps)

1
Enter the number and source unit
Type the temperature your recipe gives and pick °F, °C, or K. The converter does the rest.
2
Pick your oven's scale
US oven dials read °F; most others read °C; UK gas ovens read gas marks. Round to the nearest dial mark.
3
Account for oven type
Fan ovens run cooler at the same setting — reduce by ~20°C / 36°F. Trust a thermometer over the dial for critical bakes.
